Robin Cawdron-Stewart

Brought up in North Norfolk, I have long had a passion for pottery and the wonderfully versatile medium of terracotta in particular. Largely self-taught, each of my little potted people are carefully hand built in red or black terracotta, lightly burnished and glazed.

Inspired by hours spent people-watching at the seaside - where everybody always seems to be the most themselves - and a love of modern art - with influences as broad as Stanley Spencer, Fernando Botero and the wonderful Beryl Cook - the potted people show us that life doesn’t always have to be taken too seriously, and remind us all of the importance of a good smile!
